The Wise and Foolish Builders

 This months Experience God add on pack from Mother Goose Time focused on the parable of the wise and foolish builder.  Each month comes with a lesson plan book, memory verse poster, and storytelling cards.  The lessons can be done daily, or split into 4 once a week lessons.  

The girls liked making the Jesus is the rock craft the most this month.  I even let Elli use the hot glue gun herself, with lots of supervision.  Regular glue was just not working for this one.

Joseph and the Colorful Coat

Mother Goose Time curriculum comes with the option of adding on extras, such as the Experience God lesson plan and student packs.  For January the story of the month was Joseph and the colorful coat.  The Christian add on always has some sort of character development that it focuses on, in this case it was patience.  

The teacher pack comes with a lesson plan book, story telling cards, and memory verse poster.

The student packs come with coloring sheets and take home sheets with games and extra info.  They also contain the craft materials needed for the lessons.

Elli's favorite activity this month was making her own colorful coat.  

She also really enjoyed decorating her own story telling set. 

The Story of Mary

 One of the supplements we receive with our monthly Mother Goose Time curriculum is the Christian add on, Experience God.  This month the theme was serving others, and it focused on Mary's role in the Christmas story.  The girls used the story telling sets that came in this months teacher pack to retell the Christmas story.

Normally I follow the teacher guide and complete activities once a week, for a total of 4 mini lessons.  This month I saved all the crafts for one fun filled crafting day.  The girls worked on retelling the story and then got busy making crafts.

The girls made Mary puppets.  Elli thought hers looked like a boy and wouldn't let me take a picture of it finished.

 They created their own nativity pictures.  

Glitter is always a hit, so they loved making ornaments to hang on our tree.

And their favorite craft of the day, which I saved for last, was making a donkey.  They made them by stuffing a paper bag with paper and then adding ears, hair and eyes.

The Tower of Babel

This months Experience God pack featured the story of the tower of Babel.  The teacher pack comes with the lesson plan book, which is broke down into 4 separate lessons.  It also contains a memory verse poster and story telling sets.

The student packs contain craft materials and take home sheets with coloring pages and fun activities.

The girls made tower shakers.  They cut bricks and then glued them to their tubes, which were filled with rice.  We talked about how the people wanted to build a tower to heaven.

We talked about different languages and where they are spoken.  The girls made a puppet to resemble themselves to go with their world people set.

The girls loved using starch noodles to build their own towers.  All you have to do is wet an end and they stick together.

The people never finished building their tower to heaven because they couldn't speak the same language and understand each other after God saw what they were doing.  The girls made their own collapsible rulers and measured different things around the house.

The Good Shepard

This months Experience God monthly pack from Mother Goose Time focused on the story of the good shepard.

Every monthly teacher pack comes with a small lesson plan book, memory verse poster, and a story telling set.  The additional student packs contain the craft materials and take home sheets with pictures to color.

I put the take home sheets in our bin with coloring books and the girls can take them out to color whenever they want.

If you're telling the story of The Good Shepard, you're going to need a sheep headband to act out the story.

Another craft they enjoyed this month was making their own sheep door hangers. 

God is the Healer

Every month we receive the Experience God add on pack from Mother Goose Time.  The teacher pack includes the lesson plan book, story telling cards, and memory verse mini poster.  

The child packs include all the craft materials that are needed for the month, as well as take home activity and coloring sheets.

So far we've completed the first 3 lessons for the month, with 1 more to go.  The girls have been learning about some of the miracles that Jesus performed:  healing the blind, the sick, and the paralyzed.  They really enjoyed making their own first aid kits during week 1.  They love playing veterinarian, so it's great to add these dramatic play props that they made themselves.

After learning how Jesus helped a paralyzed man walk again, the girls made with own walking people.  This was Elli's first time using brass fasteners, but once I showed her how to work them she had no problem rigging up her little man.  Next week we'll finish up the month by learning about healing broken hearts.

God is an Artist

One of the monthly add ons that we get through Mother Goose Time is the Experience God pack.

This month the story focuses on the creation story.  The teacher pack contains the lesson plan book, memory verse poster, and story telling sets.

The child packs contain all the materials you need for the weekly crafts.  There are also coloring sheets and take home activities.

The girls really likes using their own paint pallets to paint their creation stories.  

They also decorated and assembled their own hand held mirrors.

Their favorite craft from this months pack were the owl puppets.
