The girls had a lot of fun with this months celebration pack, Mother's Day, from Mother Goose Time. Everything that we needed to play games, make crafts, and tell stories was included.
For circle time I read If You Give a Mom a Muffin. The girls used the story telling set to retell the story.
After reading the story, we made banana caramel muffins. The girls love helping me bake so they both thought this was great, plus they got a yummy treat when we were done. The girls don't even realize that when they bake they are learning math through measuring, how to follow directions, how to cooperate and take turns, and kitchen safety.
We played a matching game. You had to match the mom animal to the baby animal. It was supposed to be played as a bean bag toss matching game, but we just played it like regular memory.
I love the craft that the girls made today, cute owl pictures with hand-prints for wings.
We also played a game where the girls tried to shoot pom poms (blueberries) and paper balls (muffin mix) into a bowl using a spoon. Elli couldn't figure out how to get the pom poms to fling off the spoon and mostly just threw them in the bowl.
It took Addie a few tries, but she finally figured out how to make the shot.
There were suggested station ideas to go with the day, but we didn't get a chance to get to these.
