The last week of our food and fitness month with Mother Goose Time was all about health. We started out day 16 by talking about x-rays. The girls loved looking at an animal x-ray book we have.
We talked about cavities and how important it is to floss. This was demonstrated by putting play doh in between the cracks on duplo blocks. The girls couldn't get it all out with a toothbrush, but once they flossed they were able to remove all of it. I got this idea from blogger from the hive.
We talked about joints and how they bend. Then the girls played fitness dominoes. Since Elli is only 2 I didn't think she would really get how to play, but once I showed her what to do a few times she picked it right up and had fun.
The girls practiced their fine motor surgery skills with a game of operation.
They made their own doctor's bags, complete with band-aids and cotton balls.
They had fun giving their animals check ups, bandaging them up, and making them feel better.
We finished up the day by reading a book about the different body systems and completing a kid sized skeleton puzzle.
